ITINERARY:

Day 1, Sep 14

Flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Istanbul (IST).

Day 2, Sep 15

Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted at the airport before meeting your guide and driver for a city orientation tour. Afterwards, check into your hotel and enjoy dinner, followed by an overnight stay at Hotel Kent in Istanbul.

  • Istanbul, located at the crossroads of the ancient trade route between Asia and Europe, has its own unique vibes, nature, and culture.

Day 3, Sep 16

After breakfast, visit the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia. Explore the Grand and Egyptian Bazaars, then return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. (Optional evening stroll to enjoy the city.)

  • The Hippodrome, now Sultanahmet Square, was the center of Byzantine Constantinople.

  • The Blue Mosque was built between 1609-1616 under Sultan Ahmed.

  • Hagia Sophia has served as a church, mosque, museum, and is now an active mosque.

Day 4, Sep 17

After breakfast, check out and drive to Çanakkale. En route, visit Troy and Alexandria Troas—an ancient port city near Troy where Paul had his vision of the man of Macedonia. Check in at Hotel Kolin in Çanakkale for dinner and overnight.

  • Troas (Acts 16:8-11; 20:6-12; 2 Corinthians 2:12; 2 Timothy 4:13) was a large ancient city, covering 1,000 acres, famously visited by Paul.

Day 5, Sep 18

After breakfast, drive to Pergamum and visit the Acropolis and Asclepion. Check in at Ramada Hotel in Soma Pergamum for dinner and overnight.

  • Pergamum (Revelation 2:12-17) was a major center of early Christianity and pagan worship, and one of the seven churches of Revelation.

Day 6, Sep 19

After breakfast, visit Thyatira, Sardis, and Philadelphia. Check in at Doga Thermal Hotel in Pamukkale for dinner and overnight. Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29, Acts 16:14) was home to Lydia and is one of the seven churches.

  • Sardis (Revelation 3:1-6) was an ancient capital and one of the seven churches.

  • Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13), known as “Little Athens,” is one of the seven churches, famous for keeping the Word’s doors open against all odds.

Day 7, Sep 20

After breakfast, visit Hierapolis and Aphrodisias. Check in at Hotel Charisma in Kuşadası for dinner and overnight.

  • Hierapolis (Colossians 4:13) is an important ancient city visited by Paul.

Day 8, Sep 21

After breakfast, visit Ephesus, including the Basilica of St. John and the museum. Explore the ancient city before returning to Hotel Charisma in Kuşadası for dinner and overnight.

  • Ephesus (Acts 18:20; Revelation 2:1-7) is where Paul spent three years and is the first of the seven churches.

Day 9, Sep 22

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the port for the ferry to Patmos, the Greek island. Upon arrival, visit St. John’s Monastery and the Apocalypse Grotto (Cave). After the visit, take the ferry back to Kuşadası, then drive to Izmir. Check in at DoubleTree Hilton for dinner and overnight.

  • Patmos (Revelation 1:9) is known as John’s exile island.

Day 10, Sep 23

After breakfast, tour Izmir visiting the Agora, ancient Smyrna, and St. Polycarp Church. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Istanbul. Check in again at Kent Hotel for dinner and overnight.

  • Izmir (Revelation 2:8-11) is ancient Smyrna, one of the seven churches.

Day 11, Sep 24

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Istanbul Airport for your flight home, according to your departure time.
